A Special Gift for St. Mary’s 125th Anniversary!
In December 2024, Form 3 St. Marians Lynette Tang and Kathy Cheng took part the “BuilDING Our Future” Grand Challenge organized by TramPlus and co-organized by HKUST and Hong Kong Tramways.
Competing with 250 participating teams, the team won the Championship in the English Division. The winning proposal “Tram’endous Tramways” brings trams to life with animated digital displays and LED lights using bluetooth technology for tram-to-tram interaction. The team was awarded a cash prize of $10,000, together with a one-month tram body advertisement on an actual tram.
Congratulations to Lynette and Kathy on this remarkable achievement!
The tram will be running on Hong Kong Island from 17 March until 17 April, 2025. The graphics in the front and on the right of the tram were specially designed by Lynette and Kathy to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the school.
